With HTC Selling Off Remainder of Beats Audio Stake, One Max Will Still Sport Killer Audio According to Beats President

Just last week, it was announced that Beats Audio would be buying back $265 million worth of stock from HTC. With the Android phone manufacturer still relying heavily on the Beats brand to sell devices, Beats president Luke Woods, confirmed that the supposedly upcoming One Max from HTC will still carry the audio software/drivers onboard. With the phone almost due for unveiling, it would clearly be too late to remove such a feature from the device, but it is unknown whether HTC will continue to license Beats for future devices. Target is Launching a T-Mobile Prepaid Service Called “Brightspot” on October 6, Here are All of the Details

This weekend, Target will introduce a new prepaid wireless service called Brightspot. The prepaid service will use T-Mobile’s nationwide 4G network (LTE as well), provides customers with 3 different affordable plans, rewards customers with $25 gift cards for continued service, and allows you to bring your own unlocked GSM device or choose from one of many they will have on hand. The rest of the details can be found below.

Check out DroidStars.com

The plans start at $35 for unlimited talk and text without an ounce of data. If you want to use a smartphone and gobble up GBs of data, you’ll have to go for either the $50 or $65 plans. The $50 plan gives you unlimited talk and text, but only 1GB of 4G (LTE) data. If you continue to use data after you have hit your limit, you will be throttled down to 2G speeds for the remainder of your 30-day billing cycle. The $65 plan gives you 4GB of 4G (LTE ) data before throttling you down to 2G speeds. Continue reading

Straight Talk and Net10 data throttling policy clarified

TracFone has recently offered a bit of an update in terms of the data throttling policies for Straight Talk and Net10. This latest round of details are coming by way of TracFone who have said the limit to keep in mind will be 2.5GB. But they are not talking about cutting anyone off if or when they reach that limit. Instead the speeds will just be slowed. Continue reading

Is This a New Picture of the Nexus 5?

A member of MacRumors forums (of all places) under the name weespeed posted the picture above this afternoon, which he claims is of the new LG Nexus 5. The forum poster mentioned that he was able to hold the device, that it is smaller than the G2, and feels a lot like the Nexus 7. He also mentioned that the display is just “Ok” and not as good as the Galaxy Note 3′s, but that it did have small bezels.

The phone looks a heck of a lot like the device we have seen in a Googler’s hands, at the FCC, and at a high-school party, so it could very well be the newest picture to date. Unlike the FCC screw-up, though, we are seeing the return of the vertical “Nexus” logo that mimics the logo of the Nexus 7. More at DroidStars.com Continue reading
